We are currently recruiting for a new opportunity to join a dynamic and motivated team as a Business Development Executive on a 12 month fixed-term contract. This is a UK-based role and we are flexible on location.

The purpose of this role is to provide support to BDMs in managing B2B relationships with employers, universities and colleges and manage an allocation of accounts against and agreed KPIs. 

The Business Development Executive ensures BDMs can focus on high value activity with partners and opportunities can be maximised across the team. 


Key Responsibilities


  • Manages an allocation of accounts and delivers against agreed KPIs. Identifies and highlights higher value opportunities for BDMs to follow up

  • Support the BDMs in deliver high quality customer experience by being a point of contact for partners and works with the Business Relations Teams to resolve any issues

  • Supports the BDMs to deliver on follow actions from meetings working with appropriates teams as needed

  • Manage the incoming leads on apprenticeships, allocates to the appropriate BDM for follow up or progressing leads as appropriate

  • Working with appropriate teams, provides guidance to partners on ACCA B2B processes and products (e.g.: Approved Employers, Exemption Accreditation and ALP) to promote standards and support for ACCA students and members

  • Support with the preparation of proposals and pitches ensuring opportunities are followed up in a timely way

  • Monitors CRM usage and support the head of Business Development in ensuring the team maintains usage and records are up to date

  • Deliver sales presentations to potential students at employers

  • Coordinate and manage the successful delivery of Virtual Careers Fairs and roundtables with partners

  • Support the BDMs in researching employers, partners and competitors

  • Prepares weekly/monthly and ahoc reporting as required

  • Raises purchases requisitions as required

  • Ensures team processes are kept up to date on MS Teams

  • Attends and represents ACCA at industry and sector events as required. 


Knowledge, Skills & Experience 


  • Some exposure to business development, key account management and business-to-business selling, ideally in a professional service-based environment

  • Some knowledge of sales, business development frameworks, processes and techniques including digital meetings

  • An interest of accountancy related issues (a finance background would be an advantage) 

  • An interest of education, skills & careers landscape  

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build long term, high quality, trusted relationships up to, and including, board level

  • Confident communicator with good presentation skills, both written and oral including on digital platforms

  • Commercially orientated and results driven with a track record of successful delivery and an ability to identify new opportunities

  • Highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic; able to work independently.
