ACCA has an excellent opportunity for a UX Designer to join the Web and Digital team based in Glasgow City Centre. As part of the Web & Digital team, the UX Designer will continue to evolve and shape our suite of products, whilst championing user-centred best practice across the organisation. This role will work closely with the UI designer and report to the Digital Services Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on UX, UI and visual design trends, strategies, processes, tools and methodologies so that the organisation can continually improve its digital products
  • Develop the user experience approach, standards, policies, processes and procedures; define, apply and assure the application of a UX governance framework
  • Champion user experience design within the business and ensure user experience requirements are incorporated into the development of our digital products so that we deliver scalable, accessible and intuitive human-centred solutions
  • Apply user experience techniques such as story-boarding, user research, user testing, user flows, personas, journey mapping, impact mapping, information architecture design, wireframes and prototyping to design a delightful and intuitive digital customer experience. Work with internal staff and external agencies to define and deliver outstanding, accessible user experiences across the web and digital estate
  • The role will require to balance both user and business goals to help shape the direction of our digital products

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Experience in user experience, user interface and/or visual design, either in an agency or inhouse corporate environment
  • Ability to conduct UX research, interviews and usability tests to inform design decisions and define user problems
  • Ability to document user experience guidelines, communicate guidelines to stakeholders in product, innovation, engineering and marketing
  • Ability to understand customer pain points, needs, motivations and behaviours and translate them into actionable deliverables within a complex international environment; be able to design for an international audience, demonstrating knowledge of how culture and language influence digital product design
  • Able to build wireframes using industry standard software
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build trust and credibility; comfortable presenting designs both formally and informally
  • Self-motivated, and capable of managing their own workload
  • Can take ownership of a project workstream, not just producing outputs but comfortable handling the wider business relationships too
  • Passionate about new technology and latest trends in UX/UI
  • Works closely with the Brand, Design, Product, Publishing, Social Media and IT teams
  • Experience in Service design
  • Experience in an enterprise product and/or service development environment
  • Knowledge of Agile working and Lean UX principles
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies and coding skills (CSS, HTML & JS)
