The Business Services and Compliance Manager leads Business Services activities in ACCA national offices. Activities include Facilities Management, Estates Management, Health & Safety, and Business Continuity planning, Corporate Assurance. The role requires collaboration with Market Heads and Global Support functions including Finance, IT&T, Compliance, Legal and other key stakeholders within ACCA to ensure achieved outcomes are aligned with ACCA strategy and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Office by promoting, facilitating and championing effective risk management. Ensure that all controls and mitigating actions around operational risks are robustly in place and completed within agreed time scales
  • Identify shortcomings in current compliance processes, systems and procedures; develops ad hoc solutions to immediate problems within assigned unit and/or discipline. Provision of compliance reports in respect of all Office activities (Estates Management, Facilities Management, Health and Safety, security, national office compliance matrix, annual audit compliance checklist etc.)
  • Lead the delivery for developing, maintaining and implementing Business Continuity plans for the Office in accordance with ACCA's Business Continuity guidelines
  • Lead the delivery of the Office's safety, health and environment service under guidance of senior colleagues. Undertake risk assessments activities as per agreed schedule and report on mitigating actions
  • Lead Estate and Facilities and Business Services projects working within an established project management plan
  • Supervise others to deliver prescribed operational outcomes while working within established systems and business continuity plan 
  • Provide contract management support for the regional Offices including: 1. meeting room facilities 2. on-site audio/visual services 3. on-site catering and hospitality 4. printing and stationary 5. logistic - mail, couriers, parcels etc. 6. document management and archiving 7. taxi's and drivers. Day to day management of the office environment including stationery and supplies; monitors and accompanies contractors when on-site, meeting room co-ordination and set up. Support the organisation of internal (ACCA) events (typically training and workshops). Collection and distribution of documents, letters, incoming/outgoing mail & parcels. Licence checks and vehicle checks
  • Provides input into the development of procedures for an area within the Region, where ACCA's global policies are not able to comply with local legislation and then monitors the implementation of those procedures
  • Delivers required outcomes and serves as the primary point of contact for Business Service activities. Ensure conformance with National Office Financial and Procurement Guidelines
  • Where applicable helps manage the performance of direct reports by working within performance management systems
  • Lead and promotes Business Services activities in the Office ensuring ACCA employee's understand services and their value
  • Manages and delivers required service levels for a portfolio of facilities services as described in the Global Property Asset Management Strategy
  • Manage Business Services operational and capital budget which includes submission of annual budgets, reforecasting and variance reporting as per organisations budgeting cycle.

Skills and Experience 

  • Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level. (Over 6 years to 10 years)
