We're currently looking for an Operations Manager to join our Secretariat team.  This is a fixed term contract until December 2020 to cover for maternity leave, based in our London office.

As Operations Manager, reporting into the Secretary, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the Secretariat operates effectively and provides a consistent level of high-quality support to the Executive Team and across all Council and standing committee governance structures.

 

The Job

On a day to day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

  • Line managing a team consisting of 4 PAs to the Executive Team (based in London and Glasgow) and 2 Secretariat Officers
  • Ensuring all team members collaborate in an agile way and the team resources are deployed effectively
  • Supporting the Secretary in the development of the annual Secretariat operating plan and overseeing its delivery and reporting requirements are met
  • Managing the Secretariat budget and ensuring that all reporting deadlines and budget submissions/reforecasts are made and that there is sufficient budget to implement the operating plan
  • Developing the Secretariat communications plan, ensuring collaboration with ACCA-wide departments and continuing to raise the profile of the department across ACCA
  • Providing back-up to the Secretary on Council and International Assembly matters as required

 

The Person

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience of managing, coaching and developing a team
  • Has significant experience of administrative office and budget management
  • Possesses a very high standard of communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Confident and able to use own judgement to operate independently when required
  • Has excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle a number of projects simultaneously, in a busy and demanding environment and to show good attention to detail
  • Has experience of handling confidential material with discretion and diplomacy
