We’re currently looking for a Business Development Manager - Employers on a full time, permanent basis.  This role sits within the UK Business Development team and is based in our Cardiff office, but with a UK wide remit.

As Business Development Manager – Employers you will play an essential role in ensuring recruitment, conversion and retention of ACCA students through to membership by developing commercially focused business relationships with Employers in the UK. 


The job

On a day to day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

  • Supporting the development of a sales plan for the UK which delivers growth through the development and management of highly effective relationships with UK Employers
  • Defining which Employers should be targeted, ensuring a sales pipeline is managed and, through effective partnerships, understand the potential contribution each Employer could make to ACCA’s strategic objectives
  • Ownership for key Employer relationships in the UK, developing multi-level relationships including top to top engagement, with the target of growing student recruitment levels, supporting students through the qualification and supporting ACCA members through effective use of CPD and ACCA’s Thought Leadership programme
  • Developing a network of Employers in the UK ensuring that outstanding service and support is given
  • Promoting and communicating to Employers, changes or updates to the ACCA qualification, new products and assessments and supporting them in the adoption of them
  • Regularly reporting on progress against agreed expectations through the appropriate reporting mechanisms and CRM systems


The person

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is educated to at least degree level or equivalent
  • Has proven experience in business development, key account management and B2B selling, ideally in an education, employability/careers or training based environment
  • Has knowledge of sales, business development frameworks, processes and techniques
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build long term, high quality, trusted relationships at all levels across Employers
  • Is a proven networker and prospector at all levels
  • Has an awareness and understanding of the issues and challenges facing the educational environment and accountancy sector in the UK, particularly within Higher Education
