We’re currently looking for a Paralegal on a full time, permanent basis.  This position sits within the Case Progression team, based in our London office.

 

The Job

On a day to day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

  • Conduct investigative work, legal research, draft and/or amend straightforward witness statements and other legal documents and all other casework required on a case by case basis at the direction of the Case Progression Manager/Officers and/or Case Presenters 
  • Compile, photocopy, redact and distribute for internal use, document bundles for use at disciplinary, regulatory and appeal hearings 
  • Confidently communicate directly by telephone, in writing and face to face with internal and external stakeholders, including ACCA members and their legal representatives, complainants ,third parties, members of the public, local and international regulatory and other professional accountancy bodies, law enforcement agencies, and other ACCA colleagues 
  • Provide administrative support to the team and the Case Presentation Manager

           

The Person

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Educated to at least degree level.  A law degree, Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC), Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) or CILEX qualification/s would be considered an advantage
  • Recent paralegal or other legal work experience in any legal discipline
  • Previous regulatory law experience and/or knowledge of the legal framework in a regulatory environment would be considered an advantage
  • Experience of or ability to produce clear, concise and accurate written reports, witness statements, and other legal documents for presentation to the Disciplinary Committee
  • Experience of organising and prioritising a varied workload effectively to ensure that deadlines are met and undertaking case analysis to enable sufficient identification of salient points/issues
